During a recent conversation on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Megan Fox shared insights into her parenting approach, particularly her decision to raise her three children, Noah (11), Bodhi (9), and Journey (6), without screens. Fox, who co-parents with her ex-husband Brian Austin Green, acknowledged the challenges of maintaining this screen-free lifestyle as her children grow older.
“My oldest is 11, and we’ve kept screens out of their lives so far. No iPads, no phones,” Fox explained, recognizing that this approach may need to evolve as her children mature. “I can’t keep it up forever. Eventually, they’ll need these things. But for now, I’m trying to delay it as much as possible.”
Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green, who parted ways in early 2020 after a decade of marriage, share a deep commitment to their children. They welcomed their first child, Noah, in September 2012, followed by Bodhi in February 2014 and Journey in August 2016. Despite their separation, they strive to provide a stable and nurturing environment for their kids.
Noah, the eldest, has experienced a childhood shaped by Fox’s efforts to shield him from excessive screen time. Fox has been open about Noah’s interests, including his passion for fashion and occasional preference for dresses since the age of 2. Despite encountering challenges, Noah remains confident in his choices, a quality Fox supports through encouragement and access to literature promoting self-expression.
Bodhi, whose name carries symbolic significance from Buddhism and Patrick Swayze’s character in Point Break, was born into a family that values heritage and spirituality. Similarly, Journey, born amidst parental reconciliation, has been raised with an emphasis on privacy and freedom from public scrutiny. Fox describes Journey as a spirited child with a keen memory and a fascination for dinosaurs.
Reflecting on her past marriage with Brian Austin Green, Fox admitted to feelings for others during their relationship, acknowledging her youth and early commitment. She began dating Green at 18 and married him at 24, a decision she now views as perhaps premature. Fox emphasized that true maturity and understanding came later, through the experience of motherhood.
Currently in a relationship with Machine Gun Kelly, Fox candidly shared her experience of miscarriage with him in her poetry book, Pretty Boys Are Poisonous. Through poignant verses, she expressed her longing for the lost child while grappling with the painful reality of miscarriage. Her heartfelt words capture the profound grief and unanswered questions surrounding such a loss.
