Cardi B and Offset have decided to part ways after six years of marriage. A source confirmed to Us Weekly on Thursday, August 1, that Cardi B, 31, has filed for divorce and is seeking primary custody of their two children, daughter Kulture, 6, and son Wave, 2. (Page Six initially broke the news.)

Details on what led to the latest split have not been revealed. However, reports indicate that the divorce did not surprise Offset, 32, and Cardi B is focused on moving forward. Us Weekly has reached out to their representatives for comments.

The couple’s relationship began in February 2017, with their first date at Super Bowl LI in Houston. In October of that year, Offset proposed to Cardi B on stage during a Migos performance in Philadelphia. It was later revealed they had secretly married a month before the proposal.

In April 2018, Cardi B announced her pregnancy during a performance on Saturday Night Live, revealing her baby bump and expressing relief at finally being able to share the news.

Their first child, Kulture Kiari, was born in July 2018. Cardi B shared the news and her daughter’s name via an Instagram post, featuring a nude photo of herself among flowers taken during her pregnancy.

Cardi B and Offset have experienced several ups and downs throughout their relationship. In December 2018, Cardi B announced their split on Instagram after one year of marriage amid speculation of Offset’s infidelity, with videos surfacing online showing him with other women.

“So everybody been bugging me and everything, and you know I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now,” Cardi said in the clip. “We are really good friends and business partners. We got a lot of love for each other, but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time.”

She continued, “It’s nobody’s fault. I guess we grew out of love, but we are not together anymore,” she concluded. “I don’t know, it might take time to get a divorce, and I’m going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter’s father.”

The pair reconciled two months later, but Us Weekly confirmed another split in September 2020, with Cardi B filing for divorce again. They rekindled their romance a month later. In June 2021, Cardi B announced her second pregnancy.

Their son, Wave, was born in September 2022. (Offset also has three other children: sons Jordan and Kody Cephus and daughter Kalea Marie Cephus from previous relationships.)

Last year, Offset accused Cardi B of cheating on him, which she responded to by calling out his alleged wrongdoings.

“First of all, let me say. You can’t accuse me of all the things you know that you are guilty of. Sing it with me, y’all!” Cardi B wrote in June via X (formerly Twitter). “And I see that it is easy for you to blame everything on me. Yes, honey!”

Following the cheating scandal, Offset spoke about saving their marriage on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast in October, admitting he needed to stop being selfish and communicate better.

Cardi B provided an update on their relationship status in a May interview with Rolling Stone, revealing they hooked up on New Year’s Eve in December 2023. “We have our own bad stuff,” she shared. “We’re from two different worlds. Sometimes I cannot be … not that I cannot be a wife. It’s just like, my career takes my life. You know what I’m saying? My career comes first, then my kids come second. And then sometimes I don’t realize that I’m putting so many things before my relationship.”
