Incredibles 3: Pixar’s Superhero Family Returns

Development of “Incredibles 3” Announced
Pixar Animation Studios has officially announced that “Incredibles 3” is in development. Brad Bird, who directed the original “The Incredibles” and its sequel “Incredibles 2,” will return as writer and director for the third film.
Announcement Made at D23 Expo
Pixar chief Pete Docter revealed the news during Disney’s D23 Expo, where he presented the studio’s upcoming projects. While details about the film remain scarce, the announcement comes on the heels of “Inside Out 2” surpassing “Incredibles 2” as Pixar’s highest-grossing film ever and the highest-grossing animated film of all time. A release date for “Incredibles 3” has not yet been set.
A Look Back at “The Incredibles” and “Incredibles 2”
The original “The Incredibles,” released in 2004, followed Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl as they navigated life under a government ban on superheroes. The film was a major box office success, grossing over $630 million globally. Its sequel, “Incredibles 2,” which picked up immediately where the first film left off, earned $1.24 billion worldwide.
Returning Cast for “Incredibles 3”
For the third installment, the main voice cast will return:
- Craig T. Nelson as Mr. Incredible (Bob Parr)
- Holly Hunter as Elastigirl (Helen Parr)
- Sarah Vowell as Violet Parr
- Samuel L. Jackson as Frozone (Lucius Best)
- Brad Bird as Edna Mode
Huckleberry Milner will voice the fast-paced Dash Parr, taking over from Spencer Fox, who voiced the character in the original film.
