Tragic Loss: Alabama High School Football Player Dies After Suffering Brain Injury in Game

Tragedy struck Morgan Academy in Alabama as their quarterback, Caden Tellier, passed away on Saturday following a severe brain injury sustained during the school’s home opener on Friday night. The heartbreaking news was confirmed by his family on social media.
Caden’s parents, Arsella Slagel Tellier and Jamie Tellier, shared the devastating news on Facebook, saying, “Our boy, Caden Tellier, has met Jesus face to face. We appreciate all of your prayers and we covet them for the hard days ahead.”
The post went on to highlight Caden’s remarkable character, stating, “Everyone who knows Caden has known kindness, generosity, and love. True to his nature, he is giving of himself one more time. Lives have been touched by the way he lived, and now lives will be saved through his passing. We will walk out these next few days alongside him in his earthly body, knowing that his spirit is rejoicing in heaven.”
The family mentioned that arrangements for a memorial service would be announced soon.
Caden was injured during the third quarter of Morgan Academy’s game against Southern Academy. He was immediately airlifted to a hospital in Birmingham, where he fought for his life.
Earlier in the day, confusion arose regarding Caden’s condition. Micheal McLendon, director of the Alabama Independent Schools Association (AISA), initially posted on the AISA Facebook page that Caden had died. However, the post was later taken down, and an update was provided stating that he was in critical condition with a brain injury. Unfortunately, the worst fears were realized later in the evening.
In light of this tragic event, Morgan Academy in Alabama has announced the suspension of all school activities for the coming week.
