Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 6 Unveils Game-Changing Enhancements Beyond Kissing Animations

The highly anticipated Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 6 has garnered attention not only for its much-talked-about improvements to the game’s kissing animations but also for a range of significant enhancements aimed at providing players with an overall better gaming experience.

According to a detailed thread on X (previously Twitter) by Larian, Patch 6 addresses a long-standing player gripe by eliminating the need to traverse the entire camp to dismiss and recruit companions. Instead, players can seamlessly dismiss a party member by engaging in conversation with the replacement companion, effectively resolving a persistent issue since the game’s launch.

In another companion-related update, automatically triggered dialogue will now prioritize the player as the primary speaker, preventing party members from overshadowing the player during crucial moments. Additionally, the Shield Bash and Rebuke of the Mighty abilities will now correctly trigger Saving Throws, ensuring a more accurate and satisfying gameplay experience.

While the spotlight remains on the improved kissing animations, Larian has outlined several other noteworthy changes accompanying Patch 6. Players can expect the addition of idle camp animations and new “Legendary Actions” for those seeking the ultimate challenge on the highest difficulty setting.

However, players should prepare for a substantial storage requirement with Patch 6, as it will consume 21GB on consoles and a substantial 150GB on PC and SteamDeck. To accommodate this, Larian recommends clearing storage space ahead of the update or, for those unable to meet the requirements, uninstalling and then reinstalling the game with the patch included.

Although an official release date and patch notes are yet to be unveiled, Larian has previously indicated that Patch 6 is expected to arrive this week, conveniently timed for Valentine’s Day. Notably, Baldur’s Gate 3 recently clinched the Game of the Year title at the Steam Awards, underscoring its popularity within the gaming community. However, some Xbox users faced bans earlier in the year for recording explicit scenes from the game using the console’s capture tools.
